We expect our customers to ask as many questions that they feel may be necessary to make the right decision about their air conditioning needs. The below FAQ answer some of the more common questions we receive from time to time.

We are happy to provide obligation free quotes, however, we prefer that any information provided to us is confirmed with a site inspection and/or that we are supplied with detailed construction plans. Prices quoted are confidential and will remain firm for 30 days only.

We ensure that prior to completing the installation of your new system it will provide you with trouble-free operation, providing a 12-month warranty on our installation service. We also provide basic servicing of your system (please feel free to contact us for any further details regarding individual pricing and scheduling needs).

We pride ourselves on providing both residential and commercial services – from single split system units through to commercial installations. Our job scheduling system allows us to manage all sizes of jobs – large and small – to ensure that all work is completed within your expected time frames.

There are a number of considerations when determining when your air conditioning units will be installed, however we aim for 1 to 2 weeks after successfully engaging your order, and includes the ordering and delivery of your selected unit/s and associated materials. We will discuss time frames personally with you should you select Kawana Air-conditioning.

The cooling / heating capacity of air conditioning units is measured in kW (kilowatts). Determining the size of the area to be serviced is a good starting point when discussing your air conditioning requirements, however it is not the only factor in determining the appropriate unit.

There are a number of other considerations that must also be accounted for (e.g. insulation, glazing, zone requirements, aspect, ambient temperatures etc.) to ensure that the unit cools and heats the area efficiently under the loads that may be anticipated. We recommend that you contact us to assist you with calculating your needs.

From our experience, every job is different. What may be the best solution for one type of installation may not be appropriate for a similar job. At Kawana Air-conditioning, we can help you through these decisions to ensure that your air conditioning needs and budget are individually considered to provide you with a tailored solution.

Conventional air conditioners operate at a fixed speed, delivering a fixed amount of cooling and heating. While trying to maintain a set temperature they operate on the ‘stop and start’ principle. An inverter is a much more advanced technology that operates differently. It works like the accelerator of a car, gently increasing or decreasing power. It reaches the desired temperature quicker and maintains it without wild fluctuations. That means uninterrupted comfort and significant energy savings.

Like most things – you pay for what you get. Whilst the initial cost of the unit may save you money, the cost of running the unit may quickly add up in the long run. Depending on the energy efficiency rating of the unit purchased, you may get a very unpleasant surprise when receiving your first electricity bill! Air conditioning systems must be installed by qualified persons (by law) able to perform the necessary electrical and refrigerant fittings.

The set point of your unit/s is a personal thing. Anywhere from 21 to 26 degrees (C) is recommended, however the best setting is one that suits you. After successful installation of your new unit by Kawana Air-conditioning, we will assist you to help find your desired level of comfort.

We recommend that filters should be cleaned every 3 months, with a full service every 12 months. We will discuss your servicing needs personally with you, including those we provide, after installing your new unit/s.
